VI. LAY IT ON THE LINE
Written from the Lord's perspective. The words speak for themselves. I wrote it when I was spiritually struggling. I don't often feel a song was written for me. But, this was one of those songs. I felt that I was dictating what the Lord wanted me to hear. I have not always walked with the Lord. My journey of struggles has now led me to be real. Not preachy. Not judging. Just real. Failures and all. Redeemed. I am so grateful that the Lord seeks us - even when we've strayed.

Lay It On the Line
© mg songs 1995
lost and feeling lonely……………..I’d love you if you were the only one
For I can plainly see that you’re not free to love the way you’ve known
----
I will always be there; ……………yes I really do care for you,
I want you to know that I have shown my love is true
You…. will make mistakes from time to time
But I…. just want you to lay it on the line
Emptiness can rule….Playing you for a fool this time
Yet I can truly say that I have laid My life out on the line
-------
Hoping you’ll receive me……….. You’ve got to just believe me, my friend
I know what you’re going…. through ‘cause I have too……….. so let me take your hand
You…. will make mistakes from time to time
But I…. just want you to lay it on the line
Lay it all … Lay it all …. Lay it all …. Lay it on the line
Lay it all … Lay it all …. Lay it all …. Lay it on the line
You…. will make mistakes from time to time
But I…. just want you to lay it all
just want you to lay it all
just want you to lay it on the line
