From the recording Every Moment
V. I NEED YOU LORD
Scott Newquist and I played this song at the Denver Rescue Mission all the time. Scott is a great musician and even a better brother in the Lord. This song has a good vibe. The brothers and sisters at the Mission loved the song. A few times, we had some folks get up and start dancing. I've found that it doesn't hurt to throw off my cerebral pretensions and simply cry out, "I need you, Lord!" All the musicians and background vocals were great. Michelle's & Lizzie's background vocals on this are amazing. These girls can sing! I had so much fun just watching them in the studio. The recording about "arm pit muscles" will forever be a classic. JP (drums) helped me experiment with this song until we got just the right drum beat to make it come alive. Plus, I just gotta say, the horns rock this song.

Lyrics
I NEED YOU, LORD
© 2007 mg songs
No matter what I do / No matter where I go
I give my life to You / ‘Cause this one thing I know
Oh, I need you, Lord / Oh, I need you, Lord (“that’s right”)
I know I don’t deserve / From You another chance
But, you said I’m forgiven / Makes me want to dance!
Oh, I need you, Lord / Oh, I need you, Lord
Need You, Need You Lord / yeah / Need You, Need You Lord
I-know it’s not about me / ‘Cause-You created everything
You have brought me to this place / Just responding to your grace
Oh, I need you, Lord / Oh, I need you, Lord
Need You, Need You Lord / Need You, Need You Lord
I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord… Yes I do!
I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord… Yes I do!
I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord… Yes I do!
I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord…..I need you, Lord… Yes I do!
