IV. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY
I sang this song to Abbey - every single day. Oh, did I mention that Abbey was my dog? To help Abbey wake up, I would sing this song to her every morning. She seemed to like it. And yes, she was a tad spoiled. Coolest thing about this song: my daughters sang it. To have my daughters on the album was a dream for me. Very cool. On another note, Jeff didn't know it, but he gave me the idea to give this song a New Orleans Dixieland Jazz vibe. He had come over to practice a different tune, and said that he and the other horn gurus were going to do a Dixieland gig. That's all it took. The wheels started churning and bam! Out came the song. As you can hear, Jeff, Eric, and Toshiro were really amazing. And Casey on the stand-up bass brings it home. Great musicians with great attitudes.

It’s a beautiful mornin’ / It’s a beautiful day
There’s plenty of sunshine / Headin’ our way
The birds are singin’ / They’re singin’ a tune
They’re singin’ in May / They’re singin’ in June
And if you want to be happy….. start singing along
Start just by singin’……… singin’ this song
Any old time of the year is OK
We’re singin’ …….. It’s a beautiful day!
